Such a Fun Age

Such a Fun Age is Kiley Reid’s debut novel.   I’m not sure if I understand the naming of the book in relation to the story.   Looking forward to seeing this author develop over time. I love that it’s set in Philly!   This book is sits somewhere in between hood classics like Flyy Girl and novels that chronicle rich suburbia like Big Little Lies .    To me, the incident in the beginning of the book is not compelling enough to be the driver of the rest of the novel. Some of the little details within the book do not align which makes aspects of the book unbelievable. I get why this book was selected to be apart of Reese Witherspoon’s book club.   All the books that I’ve read from her club challenge white motherhood of women in upper class communities across the country.
